About Derajah
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, in the beginning, Derajah has a compact but impressive catalog dating back to 2002 when he recorded ‟Righteousness Just A Flow” for singer/producer Sugar Minott.
Six years after his debut with Minott’s Youthman Promotion, Derajah partnered with venerable session guitarist Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith who let him join the Inna De Yard camp.
With Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith, Derajah co-produced ‟Who Yeah Yah”, a song that has become his signature.
This song won him fans in Europe, a place he has visited several times to perform (Olympia, New Morning, Theatre National de Bruxelles among others). Derajah also spent time in France recording with Donkey Jaw Bone, marking the release of his 2011 debut album, ‟Paris Is Burning”.
Inspired by life experiences: “Everything I sing is true” Derajah says. “Any situation gave me to reflect on life, society, and on how to become a better person with the blessings of the Most High”. After watching the documentary called: “Inna de Yard: The Soul of Jamaica” released in theaters in 2019, you overstand how fulfilling his life is.
In 2022 Derajah signed 3 songs on the Golden Souls, “Hit Me”, “Space & Time” and “Mama” far from reggae, showing his versatile and distinctive vocals.
